The boys and I carved some little pumpkins for them this year for Halloween. Neither of them was too enthusiastic about gut removal but both enjoyed making creative decisions for the jack-o-lanterns' faces as well as getting involved in the cutting process when appropriate. They were delighted with the end result (viewed with candles in the dark bathroom) though Emerson declared that his turned out too scary.
