We gathered with the family in Lancaster PA this past weekend for a family reunion that coincided with Muz's 91st birthday. We had a great party and the whole weekend was wonderful. The boys loved visiting with Uncle Dude for third time in about a month, and Emerson was completely enamored of 11 year old Hunter, coolest cousin ever. Thanks again to Jenny for the superhero capes! A stroke of brilliance and kept the kids quite happy at the party. Here are some nice moments captures by the many photographers at the party.
Ethan, at 16 months of age, does not appear to think that 20 months of age difference should prevent him from doing all of the things his big brother does. He wants to swing on big kid swings. And I discovered recently that he has been secretly practicing with Emerson's scooter in the hallway when I thought he was quietly playing with blocks. His capacity for imitation is actually pretty amazing and he mimics everything Emerson does - good and bad. This currently includes Emerson's obsession with shouting "boo" repeatedly and with increasing volume and duration. (Yeah, no video of that one. You're welcome.)
I let Emerson hold my phone while we were in the car today. When I got it back, he had taken over 100 photos and 18 min of video, in many short videos. I had to delete the most abstract ones for my phone to have enough memory to function properly but I saved some of the more revealing self-portraits.
We ended up in Chicago for four days last week and weekend after my mother's mother passed away on Easter. It was a sad occasion, but we really enjoyed spending several days with family. The boys had a blast and especially enjoyed wearing ties for the first time. I had to wrestle Ethan's off at bedtime and he was sad to see it go.
PS Yes, we will be getting Emerson's hair cut soon.
